Today we were delighted to welcome Odny and Trude on our Glenkinchie Distillery and Borders Trail. Odny and Trude were staying with Trondt and Willy at the County Hotel in Selkirk.
After a tour of Melrose and the abbey we headed to Glenkinchie Distillery at Pencaitland. Our guide Charlie gave us an excellent tour of the distillery where we witnessed the whisky making process. At the end of the tour we had the opportunity to taste Glenkinchie’s 12 year old single malt whisky.
On our way to lunch we stopped at Scott’s View where Odny and Trude had time to admire the amazing view of the Eildon Hills and surrounding countryside. After a lovely lunch at Dryburgh Abbey Hotel we headed to Floors Castle. After a walk around the gardens we had afternoon tea in the Terrace Café, here Odny & Trude sampled amazing traditional cakes and pies. After a tour of Kelso, we headed back to Selkirk.
It was a pleasure to share the beauty, history and culture of the Scottish Borders with Odny and Trude during their first visit Scotland. We hope that they enjoy the rest of their holiday in Scotland and wish them a safe journey home to Norway.
