Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Tour with Borders Journeys

We welcomed swimmers and officials from the Bahama’s Commonwealth Games Swimming Team on a private tour to Stirling Castle, Glengoyne Ditillery and Loch Lomond.

Stirling CastleAfter collecting the team at the Athletes Village we travelled to Stirling Castle where everyone enjoyed their tour around the castle and the historic town. Travelling through the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park we arrived at Glengoyne Distillery.

At Glengoyne Distillery we enjoyed an amazing Whisky and Chocolate Sampling Tour. A tour of the distillery was followed by sampling Glengoyne’s 12 and 21 year old single malts along with handmade chocolates – heaven for any whisky and chocoholics.

Glengoyne Distillery Following a lovely lunch at the Kirkhouse Inn at Strathblane we went in search of Highland Cattle and found some for our visitors. We ended our day at Loch Lomond, unfortunately Ben Lomond was shrouded in mist.

It was a privilege to share the beauty, history and culture of Scotland with our international visitors. Our visitors commented that they weredelighted with the welcome and hospitality that they have received in Scotland and hoped to return some day for a holiday. We wish our new Bahamian friends a safe journey home.
