Guided tours with Borders Journeys

Borders Journeys specialises in providing exclusive private and small group guided tours of the Scottish Borders, Dumfries & Galloway and Northumberland. Our range of luxury tours are a wonderful way to experience the beauty, history and culture of these unspoilt regions.

Since our launch in 2012 we have developed a reputation for providing personal and relaxed guided tours. Each tour is led by knowledgeable and experienced local tour guides; together we explore historic towns, fairytale castles, spectacular scenery, discover woollen and cashmere products, beautiful local crafts and charming tea rooms & coffee shops. Our visitors are taken off the beaten track and given real local knowledge. We work closely with local businesses by promoting their produce and products.

Our daily tours leave from Stance F (ZF) on Waterloo Place in Edinburgh. For 2013 we are delighted to provide the following tours:

Monday –           Scottish Borders and Alnwick (1st April to 31st October 2013)
Tuesday –          Dumfries House (March to 31st October 2013)
Wednesday –    Rosslyn Chapel and Glenkinchie Distillery
Thursday –        Holy Island, Bamburgh and Berwickshire Coast
Friday –             Scottish Borders, Samyé Ling Tibetan Centre and Traquair House
Saturday –         Rosslyn Chapel, St. Mary’s Loch and Moffat
Sunday –           Sir Walter Scott’s Borders

Full details about each tour can be found on our website

We give advice about researching Scottish ancestry and undertake research. Our tailor-made ancestral tours take our visitors on a journey of discovery where they walk in the footsteps of their ancestors then bring them to life by discovering the people, places and traditions connected with them. We are registered with VisitScotland Ancestral Welcome Scheme.

Transport for golf tours is available throughout Scotland. A favourite with our visitors is the Freedom of the Fairways golf passport which is available for 3 or 5 days golfing in the Scottish Borders from April until the end of October.

Our cruise ship collection service will collect passengers from their ship at South Queensferry or Leith, provide a day tour then return them to their ship at the end of their tour.

Throughout 2013 we will be working with VisitScotland to promote the Year of Natural Scotland. Next year we will be working to promote Year of Homecoming Scotland 2014, Commonwealth Games and Ryder Cup and will theme our tours accordingly.

Borders Journeys will be delighted to meet you at VisitScotland Expo in Glasgow on 17th and 18th April. We will be part of the Scottish Borders Area Tourism Partnership on Stands B15 & B17; come along and say hello or book an appointment to meet us
